Description

The 1840-6550 is a frosted rigid polycarbonate vertical 2-card access card dispenser. It accepts inserts up to 2.13" x 3.38" (54 x 86mm) within an outside holder dimension of 2.15" x 3.44" (55 x 87mm). The resin construction holds up to two 30mil (750 micron) cards and features two thumb notches at the bottom for easy individual card extraction. Standard slot and chain holes at the top allow attachment to any lanyard, badge reel, or neck chain.

The frosted polycarbonate material provides a semi-opaque appearance that protects card surfaces while keeping the general shape of the credential visible. The rigid construction resists bending and deformation that can damage chip contacts and magnetic stripes on smart cards and access badges. The dispenser orientation allows cards to be loaded vertically from the top and accessed individually through the thumb-notch extraction feature.

Healthcare facilities, government agencies, corporate campuses, and security departments use this dispenser when personnel carry two separate credentials that must be individually presented at readers throughout the day. Access control programs where staff rotate between zones with different clearance requirements find the two-card format useful for carrying both a primary badge and a secondary access card simultaneously. The rigid polycarbonate construction is preferred over flexible vinyl when card chip protection is a specific requirement of the security program.
