For door access alone the 2k \u003ca href=\"\/products\/hid-3250pnnmn-iclass-se-key-ii-keyfob\"\u003eiCLASS SE Key II 3250\u003c\/a\u003e does the same job for less.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFobs suit maintenance and facilities staff, drivers, out-of-hours access, and anyone whose hands are full when they reach the door. They live on a key ring rather than a lanyard, which means they get used — the credential nobody remembers to bring is the one that generates support calls. The sealed housing is rated from -50 to 160 °F and takes the kind of treatment a printed card does not survive.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat it will not do is identify anyone. There is no photo, no name and no printing surface. If the credential also has to serve as a visual ID badge, you need a printable card instead. It wraps the credential number in its own layer of encryption and authentication, binding the fob to the platform rather than to a single reader technology. Fobs programmed this way work on iCLASS SE and HID Signo readers.
