Description

The 5710-3050 (Black) and 5710-3058 (White) are molded plastic card clamps with a silicone inner core that grip any standard CR80 card up to 30 mil without punching a hole. The gripper slides onto the edge of the card and locks in place. A slot opening on the clamp accepts a lanyard vinyl strap clip or badge reel hook, giving the card a secure attachment point without any modification to the card itself.

For cards that require chip insertion into a reader, a standard badge holder is not an option. A badge holder fully encases the card and blocks the chip contact pad. The gripper holds the card at the edge only, leaving the chip face fully exposed and the card ready to insert directly into any chip reader without removal. Many proximity, PIV, CAC, and smart cards also have antennas positioned near the card edge. A slot punch through the wrong area can damage the antenna and destroy a card that may cost 5 to 5 or more to replace. The gripper eliminates both risks.

We have tested this gripper against cheaper alternatives and the silicone core holds significantly better. The card does not slip or rotate under normal daily wear. Available in Black (5710-3050) and White (5710-3058).
