The 1840-5081 CardProtectorsâ„¢ rigid polycarbonate shielded holder safeguards personal information on contactless credit, debit, or any 13.56 MHz RFID technology card. A layer of shielding material inside the holder blocks unauthorized or unknown access to the cards inside. Made in the USA.
What RFID blocking means: This holder is designed to prevent your card from being read while it is inside the holder. RFID-enabled smart cards (13.56 MHz) can be scanned from a distance by unauthorized readers -- shielded holders block that signal entirely. To use your card at a reader, you must remove it from the holder using the thumb notches. This is intentional by design and is the required functionality for high-security environments. Commonly required in industries where contactless card security is critical: federal and state government facilities, military bases, healthcare systems using CAC or PIV access cards, transportation and logistics (TWIC cards), financial institutions and any organization using 13.56 MHz smart card access control. Compatible cards include MIFARE, iClass, PIV, CAC, TWIC and FRAC.
