Description
This configuration has no lamination. Part number 89640 is the dual-sided HDP5000 supplied without a lamination module, so as shipped it cannot apply an overlaminate patch or film. Lamination is an add-on module for the HDP5000, so if your cards need a laminate layer, order a lamination-equipped configuration or add the lamination module.
The HDP5000 is a high definition retransfer printer. It prints at 300 dpi onto a transfer film and then fuses that film to the card, which is what lets it print cleanly across the surface of smart cards with embedded electronics, and this configuration prints both sides of the card. It holds 100 cards in the input hopper and 200 in the output hopper, connects by USB 2.0 or Ethernet and accepts CR-80 and CR-79 adhesive-back cards. The HDP5000 has built-in password protection, AES-256 encryption, resin scramble data protection and optional locks, plus optional modules for encoding and additional hoppers.
Discontinued: The FARGO HDP5000 is End of Life. The end-of-life date is December 31, 2024, the end-of-service date is December 31, 2027, and HID's migration path is the HID FARGO HDP5000e. Service coverage for installed units runs to December 31, 2027.
