Standard Card Sizes Fit Most ID Card Printers

Our blank cards come in the two most common dimensions used across the industry. The CR80 size measures 3.375 by 2.125 inches, matching a standard credit card, and is compatible with nearly every direct-to-card and retransfer printer on the market.

We also offer the slightly smaller CR79 size, often used for adhesive-backed cards that stick onto proximity fobs or existing credentials. Choosing the correct size keeps your print jobs clean and your card feeder running smoothly for professional results every time.

Card Thickness Affects Durability and Use

Thickness matters when you plan how a card will be used. Cards are measured in mil, and the two most popular options serve different needs:

  • 30 mil. cards are the standard choice for photo IDs, employee badges, and access cards that get daily handling.
  • 10 mil cards are thinner and often used as layered adhesive labels applied to thicker cards or contactless devices.

Thicker cards resist bending and hold up longer in badge reels and holders, so we recommend 30 mil for most long-term credentials.
