Professional credentials, printed at your desk

The Magicard 600 is a dual-sided ID card printer built for organizations that need secure, photo-quality cards at speed. It prints at 300 x 600 dpi and produces a full-color card in about 20 seconds — up to 190 cards per hour — and automatically prints the front and back of each card. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB are all standard, so it drops into any workspace.

Security is built in. Magicard’s HoloKote watermark presses one of 10 standard designs into the card’s overlay on every print at no extra cost — tilt the card in the light and it appears — and you can add your own logo with the optional Custom HoloKote key, sold separately. Digital Shredding erases card data from the printer after each job, and the 600’s firmware is Threat Benchmarked for network security. Every 600 is backed by a 3-year MagiCover Plus warranty with no-quibble printhead replacement and a hot-swap loaner service.

Can the Magicard 600 print on both sides of a card?
Yes. Choose the single-sided (Uno) or dual-sided (Duo) configuration above. A single-sided 600 can also be upgraded to dual-sided later through an online double-sided upgrade (part 3652-5052E).
What encoding options does it have?
The 600 is available with a Hi-Co/Lo-Co magnetic stripe encoder and contact or contactless smart card encoding (ISO 7816 EMV; MIFARE, DESFire, and iCLASS). Pick the encoding you need in the selector above.
Can I use my own logo as the HoloKote security watermark?
Yes. The Magicard 600 includes 10 standard HoloKote designs at no extra cost and supports up to 10 Custom HoloKote designs, such as your company logo. Custom HoloKote is an optional paid upgrade; add the Custom HoloKote key from Complete your setup to enable it.
What is HoloKote, and does every card get it?
HoloKote is Magicard's patented security watermark, pressed into the card's clear overlay as part of the normal print process. Every card gets one of 10 standard HoloKote designs at no extra cost; tilt a finished card in the light and the design appears. Using your own logo requires the optional Custom HoloKote key, sold separately. HoloPatch cards make the watermark brightly visible under any lighting.
What ribbon does the 600 use, and how many cards does it print?
It uses Magicard MB-series color dye film: MB200YMCKO (200 prints) and MB300YMCKO (300 prints), plus MB250YMCKOK (250 prints) on dual-sided models, along with MB600KO and MA1000K monochrome films. Every compatible ribbon is listed above.
What cards does it use?
Standard CR80 and CR79 PVC cards, 0.51-1.02 mm (20-40 mil). For encoding, use magnetic-stripe or smart cards that match your encoder. Compatible blank cards are listed in the Compatible Supplies section above.
How fast is it, and is it Mac compatible?
It prints a full-color card in about 20 seconds (up to 190 per hour) and a monochrome card at up to 750 per hour. Magicard provides Windows, macOS, and Linux (CUPS) drivers, available from the Drivers section on this page.
What warranty does it include, and is Specialist ID an authorized dealer?
The 600 carries a 3-year MagiCover Plus warranty with no-quibble printhead replacement and a hot-swap loaner service, plus an optional one-year extension. Specialist ID is an authorized Magicard dealer, so your printer, supplies, and warranty are backed by Magicard.
