Description

The 1840-6610 is a clear rigid polycarbonate horizontal badge holder with a key-operated locking end piece. It accepts standard credit-card-size inserts measuring 3.38" x 2.13" (86 x 54mm) in a horizontal side-load orientation. The outside holder dimension is 3.62" x 2.20" (92 x 56mm). The lock snaps into place using a guard key, physically securing the card inside and preventing unauthorized removal or card swapping between personnel. The guard key (P/N 1840-6615) is sold separately.

The polycarbonate construction provides firm protection for access cards, proximity cards, and photo IDs in environments where credential integrity must be maintained throughout the workday. A standard slot attachment allows connection to any lanyard, badge reel, or neck chain. Cards load from the side and lock into position with a simple press-and-click motion.

Government agencies, secure facilities, and corporate security teams select this holder when credential tampering prevention is a primary requirement. Healthcare organizations, financial institutions, and manufacturing sites with restricted access zones use locking holders to ensure personnel cannot swap or transfer ID cards between shifts. The horizontal format suits programs that issue horizontally oriented photo credentials.
