A badge holder built around a panic button
The CENTEGIX alarm card is roughly six standard cards thick and has a button that has to be reachable in an emergency and unpressable the rest of the time. No holder existed for it.

Why nothing off the shelf worked
CENTEGIX's alarm card was a new product, and its dimensions matched nothing on the market — around six times the thickness of a standard ID. Staff still needed to wear a normal credential alongside it, and the panic button had to stay accessible without being pressed by a lanyard, a desk edge, or a hug. Their customers were improvising their own solutions, and there was no decent standard holder anywhere in the industry.
Their VP for the west region called us directly and asked whether we could modify an existing holder or build one that fits.
What it had to do
- Hold
- One alarm card plus one standard CR80 ID
- Expose
- The panic button, for deliberate presses only
- Construction
- Rigid, for daily wear in schools and workplaces
- Attach
- Standard lanyard fitting
What we made
A rigid holder that takes the alarm card and a standard ID together, with an opening over the button. Getting that opening right was the whole job: too generous and the button catches on everything, too tight and it cannot be reached when it matters.
- Modelled first on our AC-915 and worked up as renderings.
- 3D-printed versions to test the button opening in the hand.
- Hole size and position finalised, along with the lanyard attachment point.
Where it stands
The holder is ours to sell rather than theirs to stock, so CENTEGIX never committed to a minimum. They point their customers at it and those customers come to us. Sales have been strong since launch, which given nobody ordered a single unit up front is the only proof either side needed.
