Discontinued: The FARGO HDP5000 is End of Life. The end-of-life date is December 31, 2024, the end-of-service date is December 31, 2027, and HID's migration path is the HID FARGO HDP5000e. If you are specifying a new retransfer printer, choose the HDP5000e. If you are supporting an installed HDP5000, HID service coverage runs to December 31, 2027. The HDP5000 is a high definition retransfer printer: it prints at 300 dpi onto a transfer film and then fuses that film to the card, which is what lets it print cleanly across the surface of smart cards with embedded electronics. This listing covers the single-sided print configurations, and the individual part numbers differ in what is added around that: some include a single-sided lamination module and some do not, magnetic stripe encoding is present on some part numbers, and Omnikey 5125 or Omnikey 5127 contactless encoding is available on certain configurations. Check the part number you select against the configuration you need before ordering. The HDP5000 has built-in password protection, AES-256 encryption, resin scramble data protection and optional locks, and optional add-on modules for dual-sided printing, encoding and lamination.
