Overview
IDP 651159 SMART-70 Printer Module
The SMART-70 is built from separate modules that stand side by side in a row: input hopper (I), printer (P), hybrid flipper (F), laminator (L) and output hopper (O). IDP names each system by its modules, so an IPFLO is input hopper, printer, flipper, laminator and output hopper. The 651159 is the P: the single-sided dye-sublimation print station at the center of every printing system.
It prints edge to edge at 300 dpi, up to 225 YMCKO color cards or 1,000 monochrome cards an hour, from a drawer-type ribbon cartridge that holds a 500-card ribbon. It has its own LCD and buttons, USB, two USB host ports and Ethernet, and a physical lock on the ribbon plus a Kensington slot. A magnetic stripe encoder (651160) or contactless encoder (651161) can be installed inside it. This module ships with no encoder.
Add it to an existing SMART-70 to build a multi-printer system. The first printer runs as master and a second as slave; IDP pairs a YMC printer with a KO printer for up to 364 single-sided color cards an hour with partial-area printing (288 with full-area printing). The printer sets its own module ID, and the second printer connects to the first by USB cable. It also serves as a direct replacement printer module. Card handling needs an input hopper (651156 or 651318) in the row.
