IDP 651189 Replacement Thermal Print Head for SMART-70 Printer Module

The IDP 651189 is the replacement thermal print head for the SMART-70 printer module (651159), the 300 dpi head that prints every card. Each printer in a multi-printer SMART-70 has its own head. A head that is damaged leaves unprinted lines that cleaning will not clear.

IDP's user manual covers the swap: turn the ribbon cartridge lock lever, pull out the cartridge, press the head release to detach the old head, move the head cable to the new one and lock it back in. Then enter the new head's serial number and resistance value with Change Head in the SMART-70 utility, and reset the user issue count so it tracks cards printed on the new head.
