IDP 651299 SMART-70 Flipper Contact Encoder
The IDP 651299 is a contact smart card encoder for the SMART-70 hybrid flipper. It encodes ISO 7816 ID-1 contact chip cards: ISO 7816 A/B/C cards and ISO 7816-1/2/3/4 microprocessor cards. Contact encoding on the SMART-70 happens in the flipper, not the printer module.
In the SMART-70, the hybrid flipper (651276) ships with an error card bin. IDP's manual says the bin comes out to make room for the encoders and scanner, which mount on the 651298 base structure. With an option fitted, the flipper connects to the printer's USB host port to pass encoding and scan data. IDP also sells flippers with these options already installed (651248 to 651252).
