IDP 659066 Clear Smart Cut Laminate, 250 Patches
The IDP 659066 is a 1 mil (25 micron) clear patch laminate for the IDP SMART-50L laminating ID card printer. The patches are smart cut, with an opening for a contact smart card chip, so the laminate protects the printed card while leaving the chip contacts uncovered. IDP has discontinued the SMART-30 and SMART-50 printers, but this film is still available for SMART-50L owners.
Each patch measures 84 x 52.4 mm on an 85.7 x 53.9 mm card, so it covers almost the whole printed face. IDP rates its 1 mil patches for up to 5,000 Taber abrasion cycles, far more than a ribbon's overlay panel. A roll gives 250 patches, enough to laminate 250 cards on one side or about 125 cards on both sides.
This film is for the SMART-50L. On a current SMART-51L, use the SMART-51L laminates, such as the IDP 659390 clear patch. This is a special order item. Specialist ID is an authorized IDP dealer.
