Overview
IDP 659378 ymcKO Half-Panel Ribbon, 350 Prints
The IDP 659378 is IDP's half-color ymcKO ribbon for SMART-31 and SMART-51 ID card printers. The lowercase ymc means the yellow, magenta and cyan dye panels are half-length, so color covers only part of the card, such as a photo or logo, while the full-size black resin (K) panel prints text and barcodes and the clear overlay (O) panel protects the whole card. Shorter color panels are what let one roll reach 350 prints, against 250 for the full-color 659366.
Each roll prints up to 350 single-sided cards. Printing both sides in color uses a panel set per side, about 175 cards; with the driver's K Ribbon Split setting on a SMART-31D or SMART-51D (color front, black back) a roll gives up to 350. The roll loads into the reusable ribbon cartridge that stays in your printer, and a new disposable cleaning roller comes in the box; replace the roller each time you load a new ribbon. SMART printers read an RFID tag on genuine IDP ribbons to recognize the ribbon type.
SMART-31 and SMART-51 ribbons do not fit the SMART-21, which takes its own ribbons, or the older SMART-30 and SMART-50. Specialist ID is an authorized IDP dealer.
