Visitor badges that expire on their own
The Genuine TEMPbadge T2005 is a one-piece ONEstep self-expiring badge preprinted CONTRACTOR, 1 7/8" x 2 7/8", sold in a box of 500 (part number T2005).
How it works
Write the contractor's information on the face of the badge, peel the inner liner, and press the badge together to start the one-day timer. Red lines appear gradually across the badge as it expires overnight, about 10 to 15 hours after activation, so yesterday's badge cannot be worn again.
What you need
Complete badge - nothing else needed. The adhesive back sticks to most clothing; do not apply it to delicate fabrics such as leather, silk, suede, or vinyl.

How it works
The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Good to know
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.

Can badges be reused?
No. Once the badge is pressed together the timer starts and the color change cannot be reversed, so uncollected badges cannot be reused.
What else do I need?
Nothing. This is a complete one-piece badge with an adhesive back. Write the information, peel the liner, press together, and issue.
Do temperature or humidity affect the timer?
Yes. Expiration is driven by a chemical timer, so warm or humid conditions develop the color somewhat faster and cool, dry conditions slow it down. The times listed are approximate.
