Visitor badges that expire on their own
Two-part system: This badge back is not a full solution. A compatible badge front is required for use.
The TEMPbadge T5595A is a large 3 x 4 inch handwritten badge back preprinted VISITOR, with a printed token expiration area and a slot for clip-on wear (part number T5595A).
How it works
Write the visitor's name and details directly on the badge, then apply a TEMPbadge expiring token to the marked token area at check-in. The token's chemical timer changes color as it runs, so an expired badge is easy to spot and cannot be reused.

TEMPbadge expiring tokens for the token area, plus a strap clip or lanyard for the slot. The badge back itself is handwritten, so no printer is required.

The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.
