This Large 3" x 4" back takes the 1-Day Large and Brother QL rolls. Half-Day, 7-Day, handwritten, and standard-size fronts pair with the 3" x 3" badge back, T5902A instead.
Prints on most direct thermal label printers - Dymo LabelWriter 450 series, Zebra desktop. Not compatible with Dymo 550-series printers. 1-15/16" x 2-13/16" · expires overnight (about 10-15 hours) after activation.
Clip-on backs, box of 1,000. The back hides the expiring indicator until the badge expires. It never runs out of time on its own, so leftover backs are always usable on your next order.

The TEMPbadge T5902AL is a 3 x 4 inch self-expiring badge back with a yellow bar and a slotted clip-on top, sold in a box of 1,000.
How it works
This back carries the universal chemical timer for a two-part expiring badge. Pair it with a TEMPbadge front to issue a badge; the front sets the expiration speed. Half-day fronts expire in about 4-6 hours, 1-day fronts expire overnight, about 10-15 hours, and 7-day fronts expire in about 4-7 days. As the timer runs, colored stripes migrate into view so an expired badge is obvious at a glance.
What you need
This is the back half of a two-part badge. You also need a large TEMPbadge front, such as the 1-Day Large front (T6151L) or the Brother QL printable front (T6151-BQL), plus a standard badge clip or lanyard for the slotted top.

The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.
