Visitor badges that expire on their own
Two-part system: This expiring label is not a full solution. A compatible badge back with a token area is required for use.
The Genuine TEMPbadge T6118 is a 15/16 x 1 15/16 inch (about 1 x 2 inch) self-expiring TIMEtoken label printed VALID THIS DATE ONLY with a date line, sold in a box of 1,000.
How it works
Write the date on the line, then apply the TIMEtoken label to the token area of a TIMEtoken badge back. Application starts the 1-day chemical timer, and overnight, about 10-15 hours later, the red expiration pattern printed on the back shows through the label so anyone can see the badge is no longer valid.
What you need
This label is one half of a two-part system. A TIMEtoken badge back is required and is sold separately: T4102A regular adhesive printable, T3983A large clip-on printable, T5595A large clip-on handwritten VISITOR, or T6057A adhesive token back.

The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.
