Description
The Evolis QTM2-KTHLB adds an Elyctis Dual chip encoder to an Evolis Quantum 2 card printer, so the machine that prints the card also encodes it. The Elyctis Dual encoder covers both contact smart card chips and contactless chips, so one encoder handles both card technologies instead of two separate devices. The Quantum's encoding module is reversible and independent from the print module, so cards are encoded and printed in a single pass.
This part is the kit, not the module. The Elyctis Dual chip encoding kit is one of the field-upgradable options installed on site, so this is what you order when a Quantum 2 is already in service and encoding is being added afterwards. If the printer has not been ordered yet, the factory-installed equivalent is QTM2-OPHLB, the same Elyctis Dual encoder built in at the factory. Choose Elyctis Dual when the cards you issue mix contact chips and contactless credentials, so that one encoder covers the whole card population. More than one encoder family is available for the Quantum 2: the SpringCard Crazy Writer HSP kit is QTM2-KTHS and the OMNIKEY 5122 kit is QTM2-KTOMN. Note that the 2 SAM slots extension board for the Evolis Elyctis Dual is a separate kit, so SAM slots are not part of this encoding kit.
