Description
The Evolis QTM2-OPHLB is the Elyctis Dual chip encoding module for the Evolis Quantum 2, installed at the factory as part of the printer. It lets the Quantum 2 encode a card's chip on the same machine that prints the card. The Quantum's encoding module is reversible and independent from the print module, so cards are encoded and printed in a single pass. The Elyctis Dual encoder covers both contact smart card chips and contactless chips, so a single encoder serves both card technologies.
Module or kit is the first decision. Take the QTM2-OPHLB module when the encoder is specified as part of a new Quantum 2 configuration and it can be built in before the printer ships. If the printer is already in service, the same Elyctis Dual encoder is available as QTM2-KTHLB, one of the field-upgradable options installed on site. The second decision is the encoder itself: pick Elyctis Dual when your card population mixes contact chip cards and contactless credentials, since a contact-only or contactless-only encoder would cover just one of them. A 2 SAM slots extension board kit for the Evolis Elyctis Dual is a separate, field-upgradable item, so SAM slots are not part of this module.
