Visitor badges that expire on their own
Two-part system: This badge back is not a full solution. A compatible badge front is required for use.
The Genuine TEMPbadge T6059A is a 7/8 inch round adhesive TIMEspot spot back, sold in a box of 1,000. It is the base half of the smallest TIMEspot badge, for sites that want an expiring indicator and nothing more.
How it works
Stick the spot back on the visitor, or on a reusable visitor badge, then apply a TIMEspot expiring indicator on top of it. Applying the indicator starts the timer. When the time is up, the red line pattern printed on the spot back shows through the indicator, so an expired badge is obvious at a glance. The indicator you choose sets the length: half-day (about 4-6 hours), 1-day (overnight, about 10-15 hours), or 7-day (about 4-7 days).
What you need
This spot back is one half of a two-part system and is not a complete badge on its own. A TIMEspot expiring indicator is required and is sold separately.

The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.
