The split ring end fitting provides a secure attachment point for keys, key rings, key fobs, USB tokens, small tools, and other accessories alongside or instead of credentials. The breakaway connector separates at the back of the neck, allowing the lanyard to release from the wearer without the split ring detaching from the credential or accessory.
