Every one of these prints on a direct thermal printer, needs no ribbon, and expires on its own. The only thing that changes is the size, so pick the one that matches the label size your printer and visitor software already use. The peel version is the one with no fold-under tab.
How long the badge stays readable once it is activated. Half-day is about 4 to 6 hours; 1-day is overnight, about 10 to 15 hours.

Visitor badges that expire on their own
This is a one-piece thermal-printable self-expiring visitor badge, part number T2050L, 2-5/8" x 3-13/16", with a 1-day expiration. There is nothing to assemble. When time is up the badge visibly expires, so an uncollected pass cannot be reused the next day.
How it works
Print the visitor name and your layout from a direct thermal printer. Fold the bottom tab under to activate the badge, then peel the liner and press it onto the visitor. The badge is live in one step. Overnight, about 10 to 15 hours later the badge displays an identifiable VOID. Once expiration starts it cannot be reversed.

The color builds until the badge reads expired
Once the badge is activated, dye migrates at a steady rate and the expiring area shades from white to pink to red. These are the actual TEMPbadge lab shade charts; the dashed box marks the recommended expiration time.
Times are approximate. The timer is chemical: warmth and humidity speed it up, cool dry air slows it down.
Expiration times are guidelines, not exact clocks. The timer is chemical and made for indoor use: warmer or more humid air runs it faster, cooler and drier air runs it slower. A 1-Day badge can expire in as little as 10 hours.
