About this card

The HID iCLASS Key II 2050 is the keyfob version of the iCLASS credential: the same 13.56 MHz contactless smart chip with 2k bits (256 bytes) across two application areas, moulded into a small black fob with a blue HID insert. It goes on a key ring or a badge clip and reads on the same iCLASS and iCLASS SE readers as the cards.

A fob suits people who never wear a badge — maintenance, drivers, contractors, after-hours staff — and sites that want a credential which survives being carried in a pocket. It is moulded rather than printed, so there is no photo ID, no artwork and no magnetic stripe. If you need the credential to double as a visible ID badge, use the iCLASS 2000 card instead.

To order programmed fobs, give us three things: your card format, your facility or site code, and the starting number. They are printed on the box your current credentials came in, or on your original HID paperwork. We encode every fob in the run in sequence from your start number. Printed numbering, where you choose it, is laser-engraved on the back of the fob.

Frequently asked questions

Does the keyfob work on the same readers as the cards?
Yes. The iCLASS Key II carries the same 13.56 MHz iCLASS chip as the cards and reads on the same standard-keyed iCLASS and iCLASS SE readers. Mixing fobs and cards across one population is normal.
Can I print a name or photo on the fob?
No. The fob is moulded, not printed: black with a blue HID insert and HID standard artwork. Where you choose printed numbering it is laser-engraved on the back. If the credential also has to serve as a visible photo ID, use the iCLASS 2000 card instead.
Is a key ring included?
No, the key ring is sold separately as HID part 57-0001-02. The fob has a moulded hole and attaches to a key ring or a badge clip.
What do I need to provide to order programmed fobs?
Three things: your card format, your facility or site code, and the starting number. They are printed on the box your current credentials came in, or on your original HID paperwork. We encode every fob in the run in sequence from your start number.
What is the minimum order and how are quantities counted?
The minimum is 100 in increments of 100. Every run is made to order and encoded to your exact specification.
