About this card
The HID iCLASS SE 3000 is the modern successor to the classic iCLASS card. It carries the same 13.56 MHz chip with 2k bits (256 bytes) across two application areas, on a printable PVC body — but it is programmed with a Secure Identity Object (SIO) rather than the legacy iCLASS access control application.
SIO is the difference worth understanding. It is a data format that wraps the credential number in its own layer of encryption and authentication, so the card is bound to the platform rather than to a single reader technology. Cards programmed this way work on iCLASS SE and HID Signo readers. Note that an SE card is not available with the legacy iCLASS programming — if you have older standard iCLASS readers to serve, the iCLASS 2000 with SIO plus the standard iCLASS application is the card that spans both.
To order programmed cards, give us three things: your card format, your facility or site code, and the starting card number. They are printed on the box your current cards came in, or on your original HID paperwork. We encode every card in the run in sequence from your start number. Printing on a laminating or retransfer (high definition) printer? Choose the composite version, the iCLASS SE 3050.
