Description
The HID FARGO HDP6600 (part number 94686, also listed as 094686) is a dual-sided 600 dpi retransfer ID card printer configured with Two-Material Laminator, Contactless Encoder, and Contact Chip Encoder. The attached LMX lamination module runs two overlaminate materials at once using HID’s wasteless lamination technology, so you can apply different laminates to the front and back of each card in a single pass through the module. The contactless encoding module (OMNIKEY 5127CK Mini) writes both 13.56 MHz credentials — iCLASS Seos, iCLASS SE, MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2 — and 125 kHz HID Prox, inline as each card prints. The contact chip encoder (OMNIKEY 5122) reads from and writes to ISO 7816 memory and microprocessor smart cards.
Retransfer (reverse transfer) printing images onto a clear HDP film and fuses that film to the card surface, so color reaches true over-the-edge coverage and conforms to the ridges of embedded electronics. At 600 dpi, the HDP6600 renders small text, complex characters and dense barcodes that 300 dpi direct-to-card printers cannot match — and because the printhead never touches the card, it carries a lifetime printhead warranty. It accepts 30 to 40 mil CR-80 cards, including proximity, smart, magnetic stripe and polycarbonate stock.
HID’s patent-pending iON (Instant On) technology brings the transfer roller to operating temperature in under 60 seconds, and batch printing reaches up to 230 cards per hour (YMCK with transfer). AES-256 data encryption and resin scramble data protection guard cardholder data through the print job, and the SmartScreen OLED control panel keeps operation simple. Connectivity is USB 2.0 and Ethernet with an internal print server.
