IDP 653540 Contactless Smart Card Encoder for SMART-81 Retransfer Printers

The IDP 653540 is the internal 13.56 MHz contactless smart card encoder for IDP SMART-81 retransfer card printers. It reads and writes ISO 14443 Type A/B, MIFARE, DESFire and iCLASS cards while the card is printed, so access badges come out of the printer encoded and ready to use. IDP lists it as encoding over USB.

It is a field-installable module: with the printer off, open the front cover, remove the film cartridge and reject card stacker, take out two screws on the encoder mount and insert the module. It can also be ordered with a new printer. For contact and contactless in one module, see the IDP 653708.
