How Instant ID as a Service ribbons work: the ribbon carries the software. Each Instant ID as a Service (IIDaaS) ribbon includes usage-based access to Entrust’s cloud issuance software — order the ribbon, scan the QR code, and issue cards and mobile flashpasses from any browser. No perpetual software license, no on-premises server: you pay only as you print.
Genuine Entrust supply. Sigma DS series printers verify authentic Entrust ribbons over an encrypted RFID handshake — the printer auto-tunes settings to the ribbon type, tracks remaining prints, and will not print with third-party or SD/CD-series supplies.
These ribbons also power the Entrust Sigma DS2C — a dual-sided Sigma printer offered at a lower hardware price that runs exclusively on Instant ID as a Service ribbons.
