Overview
Professional credentials, printed at your desk
The Evolis Avansia is a dual-sided retransfer ID card printer built for high-security, high-volume card programs. It prints at a true 600 dpi with over-the-edge coverage: the image goes onto a clear transfer film first, then the film is thermally bonded to the card, so chips, uneven surfaces, and non-PVC materials all come out with a flawless, durable finish.
Built for secure issuance
The Avansia feeds from a 250-card hopper into a 250-card output stacker, prints up to 144 single-sided or 96 dual-sided cards per hour, and holds cards for two-sided printing without operator handling. An RFID locking key controls ribbon authentication, and a mechanical locking system is available. Because retransfer printing applies heat, use composite PVC/PET cards: standard all-PVC cards can warp. The recommended composite cards are listed under Compatible Supplies.
Software included
Every Avansia ships with a CardPresso XXS software license for badge design and printing, plus Windows drivers. Evolis High Trust ribbons for the Avansia ship with an electronic key that must be installed in the printer; without the key, the Avansia will not print.
Specialist ID is an authorized Evolis dealer. The Avansia carries a 3-year printer warranty and a lifetime print head warranty with genuine Evolis High Trust ribbons and films.

What is retransfer printing and why choose the Avansia?
Retransfer (reverse transfer) printing puts the image on a clear film first, then thermally bonds the film to the card. The Avansia delivers true 600 dpi quality with over-the-edge coverage on both sides of the card, prints cleanly over smart card chips and uneven surfaces, and handles PVC, composite PVC, PET, polycarbonate, and ABS cards.
Which ribbons and film does the Avansia use?
Every Avansia configuration needs two items: an Avansia color ribbon (YMCK RT4F010AAA, YMCKK, YMCKI, YMCKH, or YMCFK) plus the RTCL009NAA clear retransfer film (500 prints). Each Avansia ribbon ships with an Evolis electronic key that must be installed in the printer; without the key, the Avansia will not print. Agilia ribbons do not fit the Avansia.
Which cards should I run in the Avansia?
Use composite PVC/PET cards. Retransfer printing applies heat, and standard all-PVC cards can warp. The recommended composite cards are listed under Compatible Supplies on every Avansia configuration.
Is the Avansia single- or dual-sided?
Every Avansia is dual-sided as standard: it prints the front and back of each card automatically at up to 96 dual-sided cards per hour.
How does lamination work on the Avansia?
The Card Lamination Module for Avansia (S10293) pairs with the printer to laminate one or both card sides with clear or holographic patches and varnishes in the same inline job. Choose the Lamination configuration with the selector above, or add the module to a printer you already own.
What encoding options are available?
The Avansia is offered with a factory-installed ISO magnetic stripe encoder, the Evolis Elyctis Dual smart card encoder (contact + contactless, IDENTIV chipset), or both. Magnetic stripe is factory-order only; the dual encoder can also be installed on-site through an Evolis Repair Center partner.
What software comes with the Avansia?
Every Avansia includes a CardPresso XXS badge design software license and Windows drivers. Note the Avansia ships with CardPresso rather than the ID-ALL software used by other current Evolis printers.
What warranty does the Avansia carry?
Evolis covers the Avansia with a 3-year printer warranty and a lifetime print head warranty, conditioned on the use of genuine Evolis High Trust ribbons and films.
