PRIMA436 is the retransfer film Magicard makes for the Prima 8. Each roll provides 1,000 prints.
In retransfer printing, the dye film ribbon prints the image in reverse onto the PRIMA436 film first. The printer then heat-transfers that image from the film onto the card surface, bonding it edge-to-edge, including over chip cutouts and uneven surfaces that direct-to-card printers cannot cover. PRIMA436 is required for every print job on the Prima 8; it is not an optional accessory.
It is also compatible with the legacy Magicard Prima 4.
