About this card
The HID iCLASS SE 3003 is a 32k-bit iCLASS SE card on a printable PVC body. It carries 32k bits (4k bytes) of read/write memory — 16k bits divided across two securely separated application areas, plus a further 16k bits you configure yourself — and it is programmed with a Secure Identity Object (SIO) rather than the legacy iCLASS access control application.
The memory is the reason to choose a 3003 over the 2k-bit iCLASS SE 3000. Two large application areas let one card carry access control alongside one substantial second application, such as a biometric template, each behind its own 64-bit diversified key. If your system expects sixteen application areas, choose the iCLASS SE 3004. If the card is only ever going to open doors, the 3000 does that job for less.
SIO is the other difference worth understanding. It wraps the credential number in its own layer of encryption and authentication, binding the card to the platform rather than to a single reader technology. Cards programmed this way work on iCLASS SE and HID Signo readers. Note that an SE card is not available with the legacy iCLASS programming — if you have older standard iCLASS readers to serve, the iCLASS 2003 with SIO plus the standard iCLASS application is the 32k card that spans both.
To order programmed cards, give us three things: your card format, your facility or site code, and the starting card number. They are printed on the box your current cards came in, or on your original HID paperwork. We encode every card in the run in sequence from your start number. Printing on a laminating or retransfer (high definition) printer? Choose the composite version, the iCLASS SE 3053.
