The Evolis Quantum 2 is a centralized, high-volume ID card printer built for bureaus and card programs that issue thousands of cards at a time. Interchangeable 500-card input and output hoppers keep production running, an aluminium body stands up to continuous duty, and dual-sided direct-to-card printing runs at up to 150 color or 1,000 monochrome cards per hour.

The Quantum 2 ships with a Mag ISO magnetic stripe encoder, a smart card contact station, and a connecting panel with a mounting area for integrating your own contactless encoding units, all standard. A patented reversible encoding module writes magnetic stripes and contact smart cards whether cards feed face-up or face-down. Optional Production and Backup packs add a spare hopper, cleaning rollers, and a spare print head to keep the line moving.
Software included
Every Quantum 2 ships with an ID-ALL Starter Edition license for designing and printing badges, plus Windows, macOS, and Linux drivers and the Evolis SDK for bureau integrations.
Specialist ID is an authorized Evolis dealer. The Quantum 2 carries a 1-year printer and print head warranty (limited to 500,000 insertions) with genuine Evolis High Trust ribbons.

Who is the Quantum 2 for?
The Quantum 2 is Evolis' centralized issuance printer, built for card bureaus, service providers, and programs that print thousands of cards per run. Interchangeable 500-card input and output hoppers, an aluminium body, and detachable hoppers for pre-loading keep production moving.
What encoding comes standard?
Every Quantum 2 ships with an ISO 7811 magnetic stripe encoder, a smart card contact station, and a connecting panel with a mounting area for integrating your own contactless encoding units. A patented reversible module encodes magnetic stripes and contact smart cards in either card orientation. Optional Evolis Elyctis, SpringCard, and OMNIKEY encoding modules are available; contact us for a quote.
What is the difference between the Standard and Secured versions?
The Secured version (QTM306GRH-BS00K) adds a centralized locking system that locks access to the printer, ribbons, blank cards, and reject cards. The Standard version has a central mechanical locking system.
Which ribbons does the Quantum 2 use?
The Quantum 2 uses its own high-capacity Evolis High Trust ribbon range: YMCKO 500 prints (R3511), YMCKO-K 500 prints dual-sided (R3514), KO 500 prints (R3012), black monochrome up to 3,000 prints (R2131), and a full set of color and specialty monochromes. Zenius and Primacy ribbons do not fit. See Compatible Supplies below.
What are the Production Pack and Backup Pack?
The Quantum Production Pack (QTM3-KT001) adds a detachable card hopper, two cleaning rollers, and a cleaning kit to reduce downtime between runs. The Quantum Backup Pack (QTM3-KT002) adds a spare print head, a reversible encoding module, and a detachable hopper so a component failure never stops production. Contact us to add either pack to your order.
What warranty does the Quantum 2 carry?
Evolis covers the Quantum 2 with a 1-year printer and original print head warranty, limited to 500,000 card insertions, conditioned on the use of genuine Evolis High Trust ribbons. Extended warranties of up to 3 additional years are available.
